Who We Are
Room for Change is a project under our WeCare program. It's a partnership that was formed between Mercy Mall, the Davis Child Advocacy Center, our local Home Depot, and other local partners, created to provide a necessary "room for change" for children overcoming the trauma of sexual abuse. This is a special volunteer opportunity undertaken as needed.
What We Do
There are a variety of ways to be involved in Room for Change, and not all of them require you to be on-site. Here are some examples:
- Runners (bringing lunch or supplies to the crew)
- Assembling products (lamps, bookcases, bed frames, etc.)
- Painting
- Hanging curtains and wall decorations
- Small repairs (caulking, e.g.)
- Light cleaning
- Loading or unloading boxes and supplies
- Connecting us with businesses willing to donate items (e.g. mattresses, desks)
- Washing and/or ironing new linens
From time to time we also need experienced contractors willing to donate their time (e.g. certified electricians).
Note: Anyone volunteering on-site must complete and pass a background check.
