Summer Pop Up Outreach Event #2

We are always happy to partner with the community schools and the people working on the front lines to help families living in hotels with essential items.   We will be working with our friends at Henrico County MV team to take referrals for families!  Learn more here:

You can help at the 3 Outreach events hosted by the Henrico County McKinney-Vento (MV) Department! McKinney-Vento Act is a law passed to support and protect children and youth that are experiencing homelessness. 

• "MV team will be hosting summer pop-up events at several hotels throughout Henrico county to connect with students and their families and ensure they have the resources they need to return to school in the fall. " LaShaun Greene Cell: 804-258-3665 Henrico County Public Schools

The MV Team will be meeting with the eligible families and if they qualify for help from our resources they will come to our table to receive help! Here is what they will be doing:

• On site eligibility (Determine if students are eligible for our program)
• Conduct Needs Assessment (Determine needs of students and families)
• MV info packets/ Resource guide (Connect families to community resources)
• Distribute Resources (Food, hygiene products, school supplies…) 

ALL VOLUNTEERS/STAFF THAT SERVE AT THIS EVENT OR ANY OTHERS WILL BE SUBJECT TO A BACKGROUND CHECK!!!  HCPS will conduct the check prior to the event.  If there is any issue we will notify you.  Thank you!

OUR MERCY MALL TEAM WILL BE: 

• Help set up and support the MINI Lobby at the event (we'll bring items similar to what we have in our lobby)
• Take referral information for new clients on laptops
• Chat with guests and have fun 

You may even have the opportunity to pray with someone and share the Gospel!!
